I was tagged by elephantine. 1. my nickname "essi" created by my little little brother. he couldn't say "esther" he would say "hes-chair". 2.the only people i've ever dated where guitar players. eek! 3.i was fired a month ago, as a weekend hostess at the only organic restaurant in chicago, for not providing or asking a tall six year girl a "baby booster". 4.i ruined the best relationship this summer with a strawberry blonde person. 5. My seven:

I used to eat bananas by just opening the top part and then squishing the banana up from the bottom. It was really mushy, gross, and delicious. I don't do this anymore.
I failed a spelling test once in sixth grade, but I had a very understanding teacher so after I went up and told him, he didn't make me say "Redo" out loud when everyone called out their scores.
I really wish I knew French. And fluently.
One of my all time most-loved songs is Pixies' "Where is My Mind?"
I'm a homebody.
When I was younger, I had penpals in South Africa, Michigan, and New Zealand.
Very few people have called me "Rach" in my life, but I secretly like it.

Happy Dog Gallery1542 N Milwaukee Ave.Chicago, IL 60622 Press Release: Spudnik Press will celebrate its 2nd Anniversary with a silent auction followed by a party at Happy Dog Gallery located at 1542 N. Milwaukee Avenue. Donations will be accepted at the door to help fund Spudnik’s artist’s residency, weekly open studios, community outreach programming, supplies, classes and workshops. The Silent Auction will include art from Sonnenzimmer, The Post Family, Paul Nudd, Jeremy Tinder, Elke Claus, Oli Watt, Sue Coe (donated by Anchor Graphics) and many more. The auction will start at 6pm and winning bidders will be able to pay (with cash or check) for the artwork at 10pm. In addition to the auction, there will be collaborative prints from Miller and Shellabarger and Nudd and Onsmith, our past Artists in Residence, available for sale. Proceeds from these sales will directly support the Residency Program. All purchased prints can be taken away that evening. Live music and free air hockey games begin at 10pm. There will also be an information booth featuring information about printing at Spudnik Press, as well as a small press publication table, featuring books, cards, and handmade items by artists who work at Spudnik. T-shirts designed and screenprinted for the occasion by Sanya Glisic will be available for guests donating $20 or more. Miniature artwork dispensed from a gumball machine will be available at 25 cent each.

The Object Design League, in production with Pavilion, is excited to announce Worth Your Salt, our inaugural design pop-up shop, opening in Chicago for the 2009 holiday shopping season. The shop will feature a collection of objects by 19 emerging American designers, bringing together themes of industriousness and play.
